The first of September marked the opening of Björk Digital - an exploration of the multimedia work of iconic Icelandic musician, Björk. The exhibition at Somerset House immediately draws you in from the minute you step foot in the space with two screens lit up to the moving piece 'Black Lake', a collaboration of Björk and director Andrew Thomas Huang. The next four rooms immerse the viewer in the 360 degree virtual reality experience created to celebrate the album "Vulnicura", accompanied by some never-before-seen visuals.
Beautiful Icelandic landscapes with heavy, grey skies, digitized musical instruments, body cells, heartbreak and a catalogue of musical compositions - Björk Digital is all that and more. It is as amusing and absorbing as one can expect the indefinable and incomparable artist to be.
